Most innovative ideas are the ones others rarely use, which makes them effective. And what kind of ideas do people rarely use? Boring ideas. So the most innovative ideas are boring and uninteresting, which gives you an advantage…
People will skip over boring ideas like there’s no tomorrow.
Especially today, in the world of social media and apps like TikTok people are constantly asking themselves: what is the next big thing, what is the next TikTok?
But social media is not a very good way to grow a business. The main drawbacks are:
- a lot of time and energy
- you need to be consistent
- the moment you stop you start losing visitors
- you have no control (your account can be closed)
You know what doesn’t have these problems? – A boring idea.
Boring Idea
Blogging. Last time blog was not boring was in 1996 and we’re long way from there. However, blog is one of the best ways you can grow your business. It doesn’t require you to be there 24/7 and whatever you write adds to your results.
Social media posts get outdated super fast. And posts older than 30 days are no longer viewed by anyone. All this effort just went to waste. Your only option is to keep posting new content (which will also be forgotten very soon).
With a blog, the situation is completely reversed:
- the older the content, the better
- as the time passes by, you get more traffic
- if you stop posting, you still get the traffic
- posting schedule is irrelevant (blog adapts to your business situations and emergencies)
Blog is not trendy, it is not fun, there is no hype about it… but… it is your best friend.
How Long Does It Take?
It takes 3-6 months for traffic to fully kick in.
But remember it’s not like you can open social media account and have millions of followers the next way.
Is It Hard?
It is very easy or very hard, depending on the approach you choose to take.
And most people fail on keywords.
Because everyone (for some strange unexplained reason) competes for the same keywords.
This in turn makes those keywords extremely difficult to rank for on search results pages.
It’s like trying to win the Olympics.
But for some reason people think they can do it when it comes to SEO.
Why? I have no idea.
Personally, I only compete with turtles and snails in the SEO world, so I tend to win frequently.
How To Win In SEO?
The best way is to compete for the keywords where there is very few competitors.
Or even better, if there are almost no competitors, then you have to win.
And this is my strategy. I only try to rank for keywords that are very difficult to find. In fact, some of them cannot be found even by the professional keyword tools that cost up to $400 per month.
So when I write a blog post, I am fairly certain it will show up on search results page.
